Navodaya Vidyalaya Admission 2019 Notification:

• For Class 6th: Aspirants who are seeking for admission must not have born before 01.05.2006and after 30.04.2010 means applicant date of birth should be between above mentioned dates. This age limit is applicable to all category candidates including SC/STs.
• For Class 9th: Applicant should not born before 01 May 2003 and not after 30 April, 2007. For all category candidates.

1. Admission process will be done through Online Mode. Detailed and intensive verification of Proofs for Age, Residence, Eligibility, Caste, etc will be done for successfully candidates through the laid down procedure.
2. Eligible candidates along with his/her parent/ guardians may approach Common Service Centre along with Dully Filled in certificate from the Head Master of School where candidate is studying in the 5th Class. The format of Certificate may be downloaded from official website – nvshq.org and the sample of format is enclosed.
3. In Case of candidates from NIOS, candidate should obtain ‘B’ certificate and residence should be in same district where the application is seeking for admission.

4. Aspirants who are seeking for admission under rural quota, the parents will also have to submit the certificate to the effect that the child had studied in the an Institute located in a notified rural area.

Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti 

1.0 INTRODUCTION 
In accordance with the National Policy of Education (1986), Government of India started Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas (JNVs) all over the country except the state of Tamil Nadu. These are co-educational, residential schools, fully financed by Government of India and run by an autonomous organization, Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti, under the Ministry of Human Resource Development. Though admission to Navodaya Vidyalayas is at Class VI level, in order to optimally utilize infrastructure facilities available, vacant seats at Class IX level are filled through an All India level Admission Test. While education in the schools is free including board & lodging, uniforms and textbooks, a nominal fee of Rs. 600/- per month is collected from the students of Classes IX to XII only. In respect of ward of Govt. employees, fee @ Rs.1500/- per month has to be paid. However, students belonging to SC/ST categories, Girls & Boys from families whose income is below poverty line (BPL) are exempted from payment of fee. The last date to apply for the admission test is 5th April 2018. 

2.0 OBJECTIVES OF THE SCHEME 

2.1 To provide good quality modern education including a strong component of culture, inculcation of values, awareness of the environment, adventure activities and physical education to the talented children from rural areas without regard to their family’s socio-economic condition. 

2.2 To ensure that students attain a reasonable level of competency in three languages as envisaged in Three Language Formula. 

2.3 To serve in each district as focal point for improvement of quality of school education in general through sharing of experiences and facilities. 

 2.4 To promote national integration through migration of students from Hindi to non-Hindi speaking State and vice-versa. 

3.0 DISTRIBUTION OF JAWAHAR NAVODAYA VIDYALAYAS At present, there are 626 functional Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas spread over 28 States and 07 UTs. 

4.0 ADMISSION TO CLASS IX AGAINST VACANT SEATS In order to optimally utilize the infrastructure and facilities available in these Vidyalayas, it has been decided by the Samiti to fill the vacant seats in Class IX through an All India level Admission Test. 

5.0 HOW TO APPLY FOR JAWAHAR NAVODAYA VIDYALAYA SELECTION TEST  Online applications may be submitted from 1st March, 2018 (00:00 Hrs.). The candidate may refer to NVS Hqrs. Website www.nvshq.org or website of JNVs. Last date to apply for Class-IX Lateral Entry test is 5th April 2018 (up to 24:00 Hrs.) 

6.0 VENUE & DATE OF THE SELECTION TEST Selection Test for admission to Class IX will be conducted on Saturday, the 19th May 2018 in Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya of concerned district/ any other center allotted by NVS. . 

7.0 RESULT OF SELECTION TEST Result of the Selection Test will be notified in the Vidyalaya Notice Board as well as published in the website of JNVs concerned. Selected candidates will also be intimated by post. 

8.0 ELIGIBILITY 

8.1 Only those candidates who are studying/have studied Class VIII during the Academic Session 2017-18 in one of the Govt./Govt. recognized schools of the district where the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya is functioning and where admission is sought, are eligible. 

8.2 Candidate appearing for the admission test must qualify/ pass Class VIII in the academic session 2017-18 from a Govt./Govt. recognized school in the district where he/she is seeking admission. 

8.3 A candidate seeking admission must be born between 01.05.2002 and 30.04.2006 (both days inclusive). This is applicable to all categories of candidates including those who belong to the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribe 

8.4 Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti reserves the right to refer any candidate to a MEDICAL BOARD for confirmation of the age of the FOR ADMISSION IN CLASS IX Online applications may be submitted from 1st March, 2018 (00:00 Hrs.). The candidate may refer to NVS Hqrs. Website www.nvshq.org or website of JNVs. Last date to apply for Class-IX Lateral Entry test is 5th April 2018 (up to 24:00 Hrs.) candidate, in case any doubt arises about the age on the basis of certificate produced by the candidate before the admission is given. 

9.0 RESERVATION The existing vacant seats in the SC/ST category as notified are reserved for the SC/ST students. For vacancy position, website of NVS(HQ) may be referred. 

10.0 SELECTION AND ADMISSION 

10.1 Selection in the selection test will not vest any right upon candidate to secure admission into JNV till the candidate produces all the relevant certificates such as birth certificate, pass certificate of VIII class with mark sheets, SC/ST certificate, if any, as prescribed by NVS for the admission. 

10.2 Details of the marks obtained in the test will not be communicated and there is no provision for re-checking/re-totaling. 

10.3 Candidates will be considered for the admission only into that Vidyalaya for which he/she has appeared for Selection Test. 

10.4 At the time of admission, candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes (SCs) Scheduled Tribes (STs) & Other Backward Classes (OBCs) categories will have to produce the required Scheduled Caste/Tribe or OBC Certificate issued by the competent authority. 

10.5 In case of any dispute, the decision of NVS will be final and binding on the candidates. 

11.0 EXAMINATION 

11.1 Date of Examination – Saturday 19th May, 2018 

11.2 Duration – 2 ½ hours (10:00 AM to 12:30 PM). However, in respect of candidates with special needs (Divyang), additional time of 30 minutes will be provided, subject to the production of certificates from the competent authority. 

11.3 Centre for examination shall be the JAWAHAR NAVODAYA VIDYALAYA of the district concerned/ any other center allotted by NVS. If there is any change, the same will be indicated in the admit card. 

11.4 Medium of Language for Examination will be English/Hindi. 

11.5 Students have to answer in OMR sheet 

12.0 COMPOSITION OF THE TEST Selection Test will consist of subjects of Mathematics, General Science, English and Hindi. Difficulty level of the test paper shall be of Class VIII.

22  जनवरी सोमवार  को नवोदय विद्यालय फतेहाबाद (हरियाणा) के पूर्व छात्रों ने फतेहाबाद के जिला अधिकारी को व 23 जनवरी मंगलवार को राष्ट्रिय स्तर पर लगभग 300  से ज्यादा नवोदय विद्यालयों के पूर्व छात्रों ने नवोदय विधायालयो में विद्यालय विकास निधि को बढ़ाये जाने के विरोध में अपने जिला अधिकारी के माध्यम से नवोदय विद्यालय समिति के कार्यकारी अध्यक्ष एवं केंद्रीय मानव संसाधन विकास मंत्री प्रकाश जावेड़कर के नाम यह ज्ञापन सौंपा गया |

FATEHABAD: नवोदय विद्यालय समिति की तरफ से जवाहर नवोदय विद्यालयों के विद्यालय विकास निधि को बढ़ाते हुए 9वीं से 12वीं कक्षा तक के बच्चों के लिए 200 रूपये से फ़ीस 600 रूपये प्रति माह करने के विरोध में सोमवार को नायब तहसीलदार विजय कुमार को नवोदय के पूर्व छात्रों द्वारा ज्ञापन सौंपा गया |

     उपयुक्त के माध्यम से नवोदय विद्यालय समिति के कार्यकारी अध्यक्ष एवं केंद्रीय मानव संसाधन विकास मंत्री प्रकाश जावेड़कर के नाम यह ज्ञापन सौंपा गया |नवोदय के पूर्व छात्र संघ "नवोदय शक्ति" के प्रधान लक्ष्मण जी श्योराण ने बताया की नवोदय विद्यलाओ में अति पिछड़े जरूरतमंद एवं होनहार ग्रामीण परिवेश के छात्रों को शहरी स्तर की फ्री गुंणवत्तापूर्ण बुनियादी शिक्षा उपलबध करवाई जाती है |

          NVS द्वारा इन विद्यालयों में फ़ीस को पुनः बढ़ाया जाना एक प्रतिगामी एवं विघ्नकारी कदम है |उन्होंने कहा की यह फ़ीस सिर्फ सामान्य वर्ग के विधार्थियो के लिए ही अधिसूचित की गयी है | इससे पहले वर्ष 2003 में पहली बार जवाहर नवोदय विद्यालयों में 9वीं से 12वीं तक पढ़ने वाले बच्चों के लिए प्रति माह 200  रूपये फ़ीस निर्धारित की थी | लेकिन हल ही में NVS ने बच्चों के लिए 600 रूपये प्रति माह निर्धारित की है |इसके अलावा सरकारी अधिकारी व कर्मचारी के बच्चों के लिए 1500 रूपये प्रति माह निर्धारित की है |अनुसूचित जाति, अनुसूचित जनजाति, महिला तथा सामान्य वर्ग के गरीबी रेखा से निचे के विद्यार्थिओं को इस फ़ीस से मुक्ति दी गयी है |
